'Kidhow Gate' Screenprint

‘Kidhow Gate’, screenprint, 97cm x 71cm, edition of 6. This is a view of Whernside from Kidhow Gate on the Pennine Way south of Hawes. The picture explores the contrast of the geometric grid of the angled gates, the circular tyres, the pattern of the stone wall (influenced by @peterdoig’s ‘Gasthof zur Muldentalsperre’ painting) the sombre tones of the moors landscape and the ominous clouds. The cool weather of the picture is nice to contemplate in the current heat wave.

Next project I’m planning is a series on the coloured undersides of Stratford Olympic Park’s bridges.
